Nexus Coffee Roasters began with a dream on a napkin.
In the fall of 2016, a father and daughter—Matt and Amy—sat across from one another at a local café on a quiet Sunday afternoon. With nothing more than a napkin and a shared dream, they sketched out what they hoped a coffee shop could be: a place of light, connection, and belonging. What started as a simple idea soon became something far greater than either of them imagined.

In July of 2017, Nexus Coffee Roasters opened its doors in downtown Little Rock as a family-owned and locally owned coffee shop rooted in community and purpose.
From the very beginning, our motto has been Be the Light.
We chose the lighthouse as our emblem to represent a safe gathering place—a beacon for connection, warmth, and welcome. A place where everyone can belong.
Our vision is to be a beacon of connection for people and coffee.
Our mission—our heartbeat and action statement—is to Be the Light by fostering community through coffee and service in downtown Little Rock and beyond.
Since opening, Nexus has grown in ways that once lived only on that napkin. In 2020, we expanded to include a roastery, event space, and wholesale program, allowing us to serve not only our neighborhood but partners and communities far beyond our walls. What began as a single coffee shop has become a hub for education, creativity, and collaboration.
None of this would be possible without our talented and passionate team—individuals who believe deeply in hospitality, excellence, and the power of serving others well. Together, we strive to create experiences that are meaningful, intentional, and rooted in care.
We are proud to call downtown Little Rock home—a diverse, artistic, and creative community that continually inspires us. Nexus exists for more than coffee; it exists for people. For conversations. For gathering. For light in everyday moments.
